The BlueScale web UI stops responding after extended uptime. The library is still operational but cannot be managed. Root cause: the embedded controller card’s web service has crashed. A controlled reboot or firmware reload restores the interface. Avoid hard power-cycling a Spectra library while cartridges are loaded.
A generic LTO-8 or LTO-9 drive installed in a Spectra library will not authenticate — the library reports it as an unauthorised drive. Spectra libraries require drives with Spectra-specific firmware applied through BlueScale. We manage the firmware encoding process for replacement drives.
Moving the library to a new rack position causes the robot to report Y-axis position loss on next boot. We re-teach the robot via BlueScale and verify across a full library inventory scan.
Spectra MLM (Media Lifecycle Management — the cartridge-health database that tracks mount count, error rate and age) is incorrectly marking usable cartridges as expired. An MLM log rebuild via BlueScale clears false flags without affecting good cartridge tracking data.
One of the two redundant PSUs has failed silently. The library is running on a single PSU with no redundancy. We replace the failed PSU module before the second unit fails and causes a full library outage.
The library schedules a cleaning run but the cycle aborts because the BCR (barcode reader) cannot read the cleaning cartridge’s barcode. We clean or replace the BCR and verify auto-clean completes through a full BlueScale diagnostic cycle.
