You own a MacBook Neo, or you are about to buy one, and you want to know what a repair might cost before anything goes wrong. We cannot give a single number here, because the exact quote is known only after a technician looks at your machine. What we can do is explain what moves a quote up or down, so that you can read an estimate calmly and ask the right questions.
What decides the repair cost of a MacBook Neo?
Short answer: Three things decide it: which part failed, how much of the machine the damage has spread to, and how the part is sourced. A cracked screen is one kind of job, a liquid spill that reaches the main board is a very different one. Our exact figure is shared only after diagnosis, and no work starts until you approve it.
What is the MacBook Neo?
Apple announced the MacBook Neo on 4 March 2026 and it went on sale on 11 March. It is a 13-inch laptop with Apple's A18 Pro chip. Apple's India price at launch was ₹69,900, and the Apple India store now lists it from ₹79,900 for 256 GB and ₹89,900 for 512 GB. Apple's own words are on its India announcement of the MacBook Neo.
Which parts change the quote, and why?
Every row also carries labour, which grows when a part sits under other parts, so one fault can take longer than another.
What is built into the chip, and why does it matter?
On Apple silicon Macs the memory is built into the chip package (the main processor unit), so it cannot be added to or swapped later. Storage can also be tied to the board on recent MacBooks. The practical point is simple: if the main board fails, the repair is a board repair, not a part swap, and the quote reflects that. How the Neo's battery and storage are fitted is something a technician confirms when the machine is opened.
How can I keep the quote low?
Act early on small signs
A battery that drains quickly, a port that needs wiggling or a faint line on the screen is cheaper to fix now than after it spreads.
Back up before you hand it over
Copy your files to a pen drive or cloud storage before any repair. If the board must be repaired, the data may be at risk, and a backup removes that worry.
Switch off after a spill and do not charge it
Do not charge or switch on a MacBook that has had liquid on it. Power through a wet board can turn a small clean-up into a large repair. Our MacBook spill guide lists the first steps.
Chargers, damp bags and courier pickup
Voltage dips and power cuts are common, so use the original charger and a surge-protected socket; a poor adapter can cause charging faults. In the humid monsoon months, keep the laptop out of damp bags. If you live far from a service centre, ask for courier pickup, because shipping time adds days. Compare any quote with the current price of the Neo, not the launch price, as Apple raised India prices in late June 2026.
When to get help
- The Neo will not switch on or charge, and a different cable and socket do not help.
- There was any liquid contact, even a small splash.
- The screen shows lines, patches or a crack.
- The case looks bulged or the trackpad lifts. Stop using it and bring it in.

A note from the LRW Engineer Team
When you receive a quote, ask three questions: which part exactly, what is the labour for, and what happens if the fault turns out to be bigger. A clear answer to all three tells you more about a repair shop than the lowest number does. Keep the quote in writing.
