If you are in Secunderabad and have decided to walk in with a laptop that is giving trouble, a little preparation saves time at the counter. The store is on MG Road, Secunderabad. This post is a short, practical checklist of what to carry, what to write down and what to expect, so that your first visit is smooth and nothing important is left behind. A short typical scenario, not a real customer, is included.
What should I bring when I come to the store?
You do not need a lot. The aim is to let the technician see the fault, understand when it started and know what is on the laptop.
Short answer: bring the laptop, its own original charger, a short note of the fault, your sign-in details if the work needs them, and a backup of important files. If you have proof of purchase or a warranty card, bring that too. Anything else that is part of the problem, such as a dock or a particular cable, should come as well.
The full checklist
How do I write a useful fault note?
Three short lines are enough. First, what you see: for example 'screen goes black after ten minutes'. Second, when it began: after a drop, after an update, after a power cut, or slowly over weeks. Third, what you have already tried, such as another charger or a restart. Please do not open the laptop yourself to look for part numbers. The model label on the outside or the model shown in the system settings is enough.
What about my passwords and data?
Many repairs do not need your password at all, for example a keyboard or a screen. Some need the laptop to start, for which a sign-in is needed. Share it in person, never in a chat message, and change it once the laptop is back with you. If your files matter and the laptop still starts, copy them to an external drive or cloud storage before the visit. Our guide on how to back up before repair shows the steps.
If the laptop will not start at all, tell us, and we will explain what data options exist before any storage work. Do not attempt to open the casing to take the drive out yourself. It is easy to damage a connector.
What if my laptop is still under warranty?
Check the brand's current support page first. If the laptop is in warranty or covered by an active brand plan, the brand's own service comes first, and independent repair can affect that cover. Proof of purchase helps you and us to see where you stand. A company-issued laptop belongs to your employer, so please check their IT or asset policy before bringing it.
Where is the MG Road store?
The store is at Flat 115, Tirupati Complex, opposite Paradise, MG Road, Secunderabad. It is open Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 8 PM, and closed on Sunday. Clock Tower and MGBS form the central transit hub for people arriving by bus, and SP Road has many offices and shops.
Laptop Repair World has one store, here on MG Road, and has served Hyderabad since 2007. Customers elsewhere in the city can ask for a doorstep visit instead. Our Secunderabad laptop repair page lists the details.
What happens at the counter?
- The technician listens to the fault and looks at the laptop.
- The condition of the laptop, its serial number and the accessories you hand over are recorded at collection.
- You receive a written quotation listing parts, labour, GST and the visit fee before any work starts.
- Each part is named as original, compatible or refurbished, with its own warranty.
- If testing finds another fault, a revised quotation needs your approval before further paid work.
- At handover, the repaired function is shown to you with a short written record, and a follow-up call or message comes after the device is returned.
Same-day completion is possible for eligible jobs, when the part is on hand and a technician is free, but it is never guaranteed. Repairs carry a 30-day repair warranty, subject to its terms, and the No Fix No Fee policy applies.
An example: a quick visit before office
Someone working near SP Road notices the laptop will not charge. Before leaving, they write a three-line note, pack the laptop with its own charger and make a backup of the important folder over breakfast. At the counter, the charger and port are tested, the condition is recorded and the quote is written down. The person leaves with a clear record and goes on to work without guessing what was agreed.
When to get help in Secunderabad
- The laptop does not switch on or does not charge.
- The screen is cracked, black or flickering.
- It overheats, restarts by itself or becomes very slow.
- Water or a drop has affected the laptop. Switch it off at once and do not charge it.
You can walk in during opening hours, or message us first through the Secunderabad laptop repair page. For a doorstep visit, there is a ₹149 doorstep visit fee, waived when you approve laptop repair with us. Repair charges are quoted separately for your approval.
A note from the LRW Engineer Team
Take a quick photo of the laptop's outside, including the model label and any existing scratches, before you leave home. It gives you a record of your own, next to the one we write at collection, and it helps you avoid doubt later.
