Picture a 68-year-old retired bank manager in HITEC City who keeps a family trust's accounts on a Victus laptop and finds the screen cracked after a bag was knocked on a train. The first question is what it will cost. This guide explains the five things that raise or lower an HP Victus screen quote, so you can read any estimate you receive, ask better questions and avoid paying for work your laptop does not need.
What decides the cost of an HP Victus screen replacement?
Short answer: the quote depends on the replacement panel (its size, resolution and refresh rate), on what is actually damaged (glass, backlight or cable), on whether the bezel or hinge also needs work, and on labour. A plain cracked panel on a basic model is a smaller job than a high-refresh gaming panel with a damaged hinge. Exact figures are given only after the laptop is opened and checked.
Factor 1: The panel itself
HP Victus models are sold with different screens. Three details of the panel affect its price.
- Refresh rate. This is how many times the picture redraws each second. Depending on the model, Victus screens run at 60Hz, 144Hz or 165Hz. Higher refresh panels can cost more than basic ones; the gap depends on the panel.
- Size and resolution. Victus laptops come in more than one screen size, and a larger or sharper panel can cost more.
- Connector and panel type. Two panels of the same size can have different cable connectors. The replacement has to match your laptop, not just your screen size.
Factor 2: What kind of damage it is
This is why two laptops with a similar-looking fault can receive different quotes. A technician has to find which part has actually failed before any price is fair.
Factor 3: Bezel and hinge damage
A fall that cracks the screen can bend the frame too. If the plastic border is cracked or the hinge is loose, a new panel will not sit properly and can crack again. In that case the repair covers more than the screen. Our HP Victus repair page lists the related jobs, and you can read how hinge work is priced in our HP hinge repair cost guide.
Factor 4: Labour and part sourcing
Labour covers opening the lid assembly, moving the cable carefully, fitting the new panel and testing for dead pixels, colour and brightness. Sourcing matters too: a panel for a rarely sold variant can take longer to source, which may affect price and waiting time. Courier or doorstep for a Victus screen repair
If you live in Hyderabad, as in laptop repair in HITEC City, we can collect the laptop from your home; our HP service page for Secunderabad explains the process. You can also carry the laptop in to our MG Road, Secunderabad store. Wrap the laptop in padding, keep the lid closed, and put the charger in a separate bag. Our work on HP laptops includes both routes.
Questions to ask before you accept a quote
- Is the whole panel being replaced, or only a cable or backlight part?
- Will the new panel match my refresh rate and resolution?
- Is the bezel or hinge included, and if not, does it need work?
- What warranty applies to the repair?
A laptop still under HP's warranty should go to HP's authorised service first; accidental screen damage is often not covered, so check your warranty terms. We repair laptops that are out of warranty or when the owner chooses independent repair.
When to get help
- The glass is cracked and pieces are loose. Stop using it, because glass dust and sharp edges can hurt fingers and can damage the keyboard.
- The screen is black but the laptop clearly starts: the fan spins and the keyboard lights up.
- The lid feels loose or the frame is cracked at the corners; do not keep opening and closing it.
- You are unsure whether the panel, the cable or the board is at fault.
Our HP screen replacement page explains the process. ₹149 doorstep visit fee, waived when you approve laptop repair with us. The repair itself is quoted separately for your approval, and we only start work once you agree.
A note from the LRW Engineer Team
Write down the model name printed under the lid or on the bottom label before you ask anyone for a quote, and take a photo of the screen with the laptop switched on. These two details let a technician narrow the panel type quickly and give you a more reliable estimate.
