How do I keep Armoury Crate and MyASUS updated?

LR LRW Engineer Team ~5 min read

Key takeaways

  • Asus published fixes for Armoury Crate several times from July to September 2026, and for MyASUS earlier in the year. The simple habit is to open each update screen monthly.
  • Armoury Crate is updated through its own Update Center. Asus listed versions up to 6.5.7.0 in its 8 September 2026 notice, so you want the newest version offered, not an old one.
  • Other Asus tools such as GPU Tweak, AI Suite 3 and DriverHub also had fixes. Download Asus software only from Asus or from inside its own apps, never from a link in a message.
  • A few models, such as the TUF Gaming A15 FA507NV and FA507NU, also have a listed BIOS update. Check your exact model name before updating any BIOS.

This is for anyone with an Asus ROG, TUF, Vivobook or Zenbook laptop, or an Asus desktop motherboard, who never opens Armoury Crate or MyASUS except to change the fan mode. You will learn which Asus apps matter, how to update them in a few minutes, what Asus has said about recent fixes, and which downloads to avoid. No technical skill needed.

How do I keep Armoury Crate and MyASUS updated?

Short answer: Open Armoury Crate, go to its Update Center and install what is offered. Open MyASUS and check its live update section for drivers and utilities. Do both once a month, with the charger connected. Asus has published several fixes for these apps this year, so staying current is a routine, not a worry.

What are these two apps?

Armoury Crate is Asus's control app on ROG, TUF and some other models. It handles fan modes, lighting and performance profiles. MyASUS is the support app on many Asus laptops. It checks drivers, battery health and basic diagnostics. Both sit quietly in the background on Windows, so it is easy to forget to update them.

What has Asus said about updates?

Asus publishes a security advisory page at asus.com/security-advisory. Its recent entries relevant to these apps are below. Each is a routine notice with a routine remedy: update.

DateWhat Asus listedAsus remedy
30 July 2026Armoury Crate below 6.5.7.0Update to 6.5.7.0
11 August 2026GPU Tweak III and II, AI Suite 3, Armoury CrateUpdate to the fixed versions
8 September 2026Armoury Crate up to 6.5.7.0Update via Update Center
January to May 2026MyASUS, DriverHub, System Control InterfaceUpdate the software

Note that the September notice lists versions up to 6.5.7.0, so version 6.5.7.0 itself is not the end of the story. Go by the version Update Center offers you.

The update habit, step by step

Armoury Crate

  1. Open Armoury Crate from the Start menu.
  2. Choose Settings, then Update Center.
  3. Select Check for updates and install what appears, including Armoury Crate itself.
  4. Restart if asked. The wording can differ slightly between versions.

MyASUS

  1. Open MyASUS and go to Customer Support.
  2. Choose Live Update and check for updates.
  3. Install drivers and utilities marked as available, then restart.

Other Asus tools

Do not install Asus software from links in messages or from unknown websites.

If you also use GPU Tweak or AI Suite 3, open each and check for an update. Asus listed fixes for them on 11 August 2026.

What about the BIOS?

The BIOS (the small program that starts the laptop before Windows loads) is separate from these apps. Asus has listed BIOS updates for some products, for instance the TUF Gaming A15 FA507NV and FA507NU on 27 August 2026 and several Asus desktop motherboards on 1 October 2026. Only update the BIOS if your exact model appears in a notice. Do not switch the laptop off while a BIOS update is running. Our guide to updating a laptop BIOS safely shows the steps.

Heat, dust and steady power for gaming laptops

Gaming laptops can run hot and are often left plugged in for long hours, and dust can slow the fans. Keep the vents clear. Updates need a steady connection, so avoid starting a large driver download on a weak hotspot. Voltage dips can interrupt a driver install, so keep the charger connected throughout. Asus support centres can be far from smaller cities, so we accept laptops by courier from anywhere in India.

Which downloads should I avoid?

  • Armoury Crate or driver files shared on forums, messages or video links.
  • Tools that promise to unlock extra performance or remove limits.
  • Websites that ask you to install a separate updater before downloading Asus software.

If you are unsure, read our Asus laptop not turning on guide, which also explains the MyASUS diagnostic. Our brand overview is on the Asus laptop repair page.

When to get help

  • Armoury Crate or MyASUS will not open or fails to update after several tries.
  • The laptop shows a blue screen after a driver or app update.
  • Fans run at full speed all the time, or the laptop overheats while idle.
  • A BIOS update was interrupted.

Please do not delete system files to fix the app. In Hyderabad our doorstep service can visit, with a visit fee of ₹149 doorstep visit fee, waived when you approve laptop repair with us.

A note from the LRW Engineer Team

Choose one date each month, such as the first of the month, and open both Asus apps. It takes five minutes. Update only from inside the apps or from Asus's own support page. Leave the BIOS alone unless Asus names your exact model, and keep the charger connected throughout every update.
