Asus laptop stuck at POST or “No bootable device” after a BIOS update or Windows 11 24H2. Secure Boot change silently breaks the EFI boot entry — usually recoverable without data loss.
Random BSOD stop codes — IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, KMODE_EXCEPTION, VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE — often caused by an Armoury Crate driver conflict or NVIDIA GPU driver mismatch after a Windows update on ROG and TUF models.
ZenBook Duo 14 / 15 secondary display goes dark or becomes a plain monitor after Windows reinstall. Requires ASUS ScreenXpert 3 driver — not available on Windows Update — plus a specific display driver from Asus support.
MyASUS disappeared from the Microsoft Store listing for your model after a Windows reinstall. Battery health mode, fan profiles, and BIOS update via EZ Flash all stop working without it.
ROG Strix and Zephyrus laptops lose Armoury Crate thermal profiles and RGB after a Windows reinstall. Generic Windows Update drivers skip the ROG-specific GPU MUX switch and fan boost software entirely.
VivoBook 14 / 15 takes 8–12 minutes to reach desktop. McAfee trial, Asus GiftBox, and multiple background updaters all competing for CPU and SSD bandwidth at every boot.
Upgraded to Windows 11 but Wi-Fi dropped, OLED colour profile broke, or the Intel Arc / NVIDIA GPU driver crashed. Asus-specific firmware packages are not delivered by Windows Update alone.
ZenBook 14 / 15 OLED panels need a specific Asus Splendid display profile. After reinstall, generic drivers flatten colour and break auto-brightness causing eye strain on OLED panels.
ProArt Studiobook 16 / Pro 16’s physical Asus Dial stops responding after a clean install. Requires ProArt Hub software + Asus Dial firmware from Asus support — not on Windows Update.
Still on Windows 10 and want to upgrade. Most Asus models from 2019+ support Windows 11 once TPM 2.0 is enabled in Asus BIOS (Delete key at POST). We check, configure, and upgrade cleanly.
Restore VivoBook or ZenBook to Asus factory state via Asus Cloud Recovery or the hidden eRecovery partition. We back up your data first and ensure the recovery partition is intact before starting.
Want a completely clean Windows with only the Asus utilities you actually need. We back up data, wipe and reinstall, run the full Asus driver sequence, and set up Office if needed.
Asus ships a layered software ecosystem that varies dramatically by product line: MyASUS (the common companion for all consumer models), Armoury Crate and Aura Sync (ROG / TUF gaming), ScreenXpert 3 (ZenBook Duo), Asus Splendid (OLED colour profiles), ProArt Hub with Asus Dial firmware (ProArt Studiobook), and GiftBox (VivoBook bloatware). Each product line talks to the Asus BIOS differently. When Windows 11 24H2 lands — especially the cumulative update enforcing Secure Boot — it has to negotiate this stack without breaking the boot chain or disabling critical device drivers. When it fails, the result is a POST screen showing “No bootable device”, a BSOD loop, or a silent loss of all Asus-specific functionality.
The Asus BIOS Secure Boot issue is the most common root cause we see on ROG Strix, Zephyrus, and ZenBook laptops in 2025–2026. Asus BIOS uses a non-standard Secure Boot database implementation on pre-2021 models. When Windows 11 24H2 enforces the updated Secure Boot key database, laptops with older BIOS versions can refuse to boot. The fix is: enter Asus BIOS (Delete key at POST → Advanced Mode), navigate to Boot → Secure Boot, delete the existing key database, load the Microsoft-provided defaults, save, and reboot. If the EFI boot entry is also corrupted, we run bootrec /rebuildbcd from a recovery USB. The entire process takes 45–90 minutes. More on BIOS and firmware repair.
BSOD diagnosis on Asus ROG and TUF laptops has a specific pattern: VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE with atikmpag.sys or nvlddmkm.sys points to a GPU driver conflict, which is nearly always triggered by Armoury Crate auto-updating the GPU driver independently of Windows Update, creating a version mismatch. We read the minidump files from C:\Windows\Minidump in WinDbg, identify the crashing driver, and roll back or replace it in the correct install order: chipset → Intel/AMD CPU graphics → NVIDIA GeForce → Armoury Crate Service → Armoury Crate UI. Skipping the chipset driver first is the single most common mistake that breaks ROG installations. More about Asus services in Hyderabad.
For ZenBook Duo ScreenPad Plus (the 12.7″ secondary display on UX482 and UX582 models), Windows treats it as a standard extended display using a generic driver after reinstall. This works at a basic level but breaks all ScreenXpert features: App Switcher, Task Group, the touch control bar, and the ScreenPad-specific taskbar. The fix requires downloading ASUS ScreenXpert 3 and the dedicated ASUS ScreenPad display driver from Asus’s support page for your exact model number — the wrong driver version will show a “driver install failed” error because the driver checks the hardware ID. We carry model-specific driver packages for UX482, UX482EA, UX582, and the newer ZenBook Duo 14 OLED UX3402 with its repositioned ScreenPad Plus design.
ZenBook 14 / 15 OLED models (UX3402, UX5401, UM5302) require a specific Asus Splendid display profile post-install. Without it, Windows applies a generic sRGB colour space to the OLED panel, washing out colours and running the backlight at a constant brightness that causes burn-in risk over time. We install Asus Splendid from MyASUS, calibrate to the DCI-P3 profile (the correct OLED profile for these panels), and configure Windows HDR settings. The OLED auto-brightness fix via Asus OLED Care is also applied to reduce the blue-light compensation that can make whites look yellowish at night.
After any Asus reinstall, the post-install driver sequence is critical. We install MyASUS first so it registers the laptop against its model database and identifies which drivers apply. Then: Intel/AMD chipset, Intel ME firmware, NVIDIA GeForce (for ROG / TUF), Realtek audio, Intel/Qualcomm Wi-Fi, and finally Armoury Crate Service before the Armoury Crate UI. On ProArt Studiobook, ProArt Creator Hub and the ASUS Dial firmware (a USB HID device that requires a separate firmware flasher) are installed last. The ROG GPU MUX switch — which toggles between Hybrid (iGPU + dGPU) and dGPU-only mode for maximum gaming performance — is verified to toggle correctly in Armoury Crate after installation. Data safety first: we back up all files before any format. Cost ₹500–₹2,000 by data volume. More on our data recovery service when a drive is already failing.
