Xiaomi RedmiBook 16 DC Jack Repair in Hyderabad

The Redmibook 16 charging port is either a barrel DC-jack (older units) or a USB-C PD connector. Barrel jacks fail from solder-joint fatigue: the mechanical stress of plugging and unplugging the adapter concentrates at the through-hole solder pads and causes hairline cracks. USB-C ports fail differently — the SMD pads lift from repeated lateral cable stress, and the CC logic IC can also fail, preventing PD negotiation while still passing 5 V charge. Both failure modes appear the same to the user: no charge or intermittent charge. A USB-C power analyser helps us distinguish pad lift (mechanical) from CC IC failure (electronic) before opening the chassis.

For barrel jacks we desolder the damaged connector under a hot-air station and reflow a new OEM-spec jack with flux-core solder. For USB-C ports we use SMD rework tweezers to re-anchor lifted pads and fit a new port with epoxy underfill for mechanical strength. CC logic IC replacement is done under a microscope. We verify full PD negotiation (Redmi Book Manager power settings checked) and 90-min charge cycle before handover.
