Main board & power board repair — multimeter + thermal camera diagnosis · Genuine Epson parts
Your Epson EH-TW750 home cinema projector won’t switch on, the fan spins but nothing appears, or vertical colour strips have appeared across the image. These are board-level faults — different from a lamp problem. Laptop Repair World diagnoses and repairs the EH-TW750 main board (LCD driver IC, scaler chip, HDMI input) and power board (AC→DC converter, lamp ballast) using genuine Epson parts sourced from our authorised distributor.
Press the power button and nothing happens. No LED, no fan, no sound. This is a power board failure — the board that converts 230V mains AC to the DC voltages the projector needs. Often caused by a blown fuse or failed bridge rectifier (a component that converts AC to DC) on the power board.
The power board is alive enough to run the fan and LED, but the lamp ballast circuit (the high-voltage section that starts the projector lamp) is not producing the ignition pulse. This is either a failed ballast capacitor on the power board or a fault in the main board’s lamp control signal.
Solid vertical lines of one colour (typically red, green, or blue) running top to bottom of the projected image indicate a failed LCD driver IC (the chip that sends drive signals to the LCD panels) on the main board. The affected colour channel outputs a constant maximum signal instead of varying per-pixel, creating a solid strip in that colour.
The scaler chip (the processor on the main board that converts the HDMI signal to the panel resolution) overheats and stalls. Thermal compound between the scaler and its heatsink dries out after years of use, causing periodic image freeze as the chip exceeds safe temperature. Re-application of thermal compound plus capacitor inspection resolves most freeze faults.
The EH-TW750 main board carries the HDMI receiver IC (a chip that decodes the HDMI signal). When this IC fails — often from a power surge through a connected device — the projector powers on and the lamp lights, but HDMI sources show “No Signal”. Component-level IC replacement, not full main board swap.
Specific blink patterns on the EH-TW750 indicate fault codes. Red lamp LED blinking: lamp circuit fault on the power board. Orange temperature LED + lamp LED combination: thermal sensor fault. We decode the blink pattern, identify the specific fault, and replace only the failed component.
The Epson EH-TW750 is a 3LCD home cinema projector (3LCD means it uses three separate liquid crystal panels — one for each colour channel: red, green, blue — to produce the image, rather than a single DLP chip). The image quality depends on two boards working correctly:
The main board hosts the LCD driver IC (the chip that sends drive signals to all three LCD panels), the scaler chip (a processor that converts your HDMI input signal to the panel’s native resolution and frame rate), and the HDMI receiver IC. When the main board fails, the symptoms are image-quality faults: vertical strips in one colour (LCD driver IC), no HDMI detection, or image freeze after warm-up (scaler).
The power board handles two distinct jobs: converting 230V AC mains power to the DC voltages the projector needs (12V, 5V, 3.3V), and generating the high-voltage ignition pulse that starts the projector lamp. When the power board fails, the symptoms are power faults: projector completely dead, lamp not igniting, or projector cutting out mid-operation when the power regulation loses stability.
Laptop Repair World diagnoses with a multimeter (to measure DC rail voltages from the power board) and a thermal camera (to identify which IC on the main board is running abnormally hot). Blown capacitors are replaced individually rather than swapping the whole board where possible. When a whole board is needed, we source from our authorised Epson distributor — genuine parts, not grey-market replacements.
Describe the symptom (no power / colour strips / freeze / fan only). Walk in to our Secunderabad store or WhatsApp for doorstep pickup. ₹149 visit charge.
Power board DC rails measured. Lamp hours checked. Main board thermal scan to identify overheating ICs. Fault confirmed and quoted before any repair starts. No Fix No Fee.
Failed capacitors replaced, blown ICs swapped, or full board replacement with genuine Epson part. Thermal paste replaced on scaler where needed.
Projector powered on, lamp confirmed lit, image projected and checked for strips, uniformity, and colour accuracy. 30-day warranty. Pay after verification.
All prices include multimeter + thermal diagnosis + repair + 30-day warranty. ₹149 visit/pickup charge. Final price confirmed before work starts.
We source replacement boards from an authorised Epson distributor — not grey-market or refurbished. Genuine parts carry the correct firmware and specifications for the EH-TW750.
We measure power rail voltages and use a thermal camera to identify the specific failed component before quoting. No guessing, no parts replaced unnecessarily.
We replace individual failed ICs rather than the full board where possible. Component repair costs 30–50% less than full board replacement.
Lamp hours and lamp circuit checked before any board diagnosis. You don’t get a board repair quote for a lamp problem, and you don’t get a lamp quote for a board problem.
Same fault returns within 30 days — fixed free including return visit. No Fix No Fee applies to all projector board work.
