Chip-level diagnostics · ₹149 visit · No Fix — No Fee
Important: the Razer Book 13 is a productivity ultrabook, not a gaming laptop — it runs an Intel Core i7-1165G7 (Tiger Lake) with Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics, no discrete GPU. Motherboard faults here are power-delivery and charging focused (USB-C PD controller, EC chip, VRM), not GPU-related. The 13.4-inch UHD+ 3840×2400 touchscreen connects via both eDP and USB — touch faults can look like board faults. We triage software first, then hardware, before recommending board-level work.
The Book 13 is a USB-C-only ultrabook — no barrel-tip charger, no dGPU. Board faults follow a distinct pattern.
EC chip (Embedded Controller) or VRM fault. Most common after power surge, liquid contact, or long storage. Chip-level diagnosis ₹149 visit + assessment.
Both Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports use a shared PD (Power Delivery) controller IC on the main board. PD controller fault = no charge on either port.
UHD+ 3840×2400 touchscreen uses USB for touch controller. Can be a driver issue (Windows update) or touch IC fault. We triage software first.
Thermal throttle (clogged exhaust + degraded paste), VRM instability, or LPDDR4X RAM solder joint failure. Triaged in order before board work.
Coffee or water spill on the Book 13's low-clearance keyboard reaches the board instantly. Ultrasonic cleaning + corroded component replacement.
Powers on, Razer logo appears, then shuts off — EC firmware corruption or BIOS chip fault. We re-flash before recommending board replacement.
