The honest answer is: a small, specific audience. The VAIO Z makes sense if you specifically need a sub-1 kg Windows laptop with full port selection, are comfortable sourcing it grey-market, and have a repair plan for if something goes wrong. The FE series makes sense if you want the VAIO brand at a reasonable price with some degree of local availability. Motherboard and chip-level repair — power IC faults, charging IC issues, USB port re-soldering — are technically feasible.
