Why is Bluetooth audio stuttering on a Snapdragon X Elite laptop?
Short answer: Snapdragon X Elite Copilot+ laptops use Qualcomm's FastConnect 7800 chip, which handles both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the same hardware. When Wi-Fi is connected on the 2.4 GHz band — the same frequency Bluetooth uses — the coexistence algorithm that schedules when each radio transmits can drop Bluetooth audio frames. Outdated coexistence drivers make this significantly worse. The fix is switching to 5 GHz Wi-Fi and updating the Qualcomm driver package from your laptop maker's support page.
How to fix Bluetooth audio stutter on Snapdragon X Elite
Step 1: Switch Wi-Fi to 5 GHz or 6 GHz immediately
This is the fastest fix and requires no software changes. Wi-Fi's 2.4 GHz band directly overlaps with Bluetooth's operating frequency. When both radios transmit simultaneously, they interfere with each other — and on Snapdragon X's unified radio hardware, the coexistence scheduling occasionally drops Bluetooth packets. Simply connecting your laptop to your router's 5 GHz or 6 GHz network eliminates the overlap entirely. On most modern routers in India, the 5 GHz network is labeled separately (often with a "-5G" suffix) or your router's settings let you force specific devices to 5 GHz. Step 2: Update the Qualcomm FastConnect driver from your OEM

If a driver update is not yet available for your model, a registry-level workaround forces Bluetooth to operate independently of the Wi-Fi radio scheduler. Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button, then Device Manager), expand the Bluetooth section, right-click your Qualcomm Bluetooth adapter, select Properties, click the Advanced tab, find the setting labeled Bluetooth Collaboration or BT-Coexistence, and set it to Disabled. Click OK and restart. This tells the driver to stop deferring to the Wi-Fi scheduler, which eliminates the stutter at the cost of slightly reduced Wi-Fi throughput during active Bluetooth streaming — a trade-off most users find acceptable.

This makes the stutter noticeably worse in cities compared to the relatively cleaner radio environments in Europe or North America where these driver stacks were originally tuned.
