Which case size handles Indian summer better?
Short answer: Larger cases have more thermal headroom in Indian summer conditions — more fan mounting positions, larger radiator support, and more internal volume for hot air to dissipate before being exhausted. However, the practical sweet spot for most Indian builders is the mid-tower ATX, not the full-tower: it fits all mainstream cooling solutions, supports full ATX motherboards, and is manageable in Indian home spaces. The choice between mini and full-tower depends on what cooling solution you can fit, not just the case volume.

Thermal headroom — how form factor affects temperatures
In Indian summer ambient (38–42°C in most cities from March to June), a full-tower case (500mm+ height, supporting E-ATX boards with 360mm or 420mm radiator mounts) typically keeps the same CPU/GPU build 5–10°C cooler than a compact mini-tower. The mechanism is simple: a larger case has more internal volume for hot air to distribute before exiting through exhaust fans, and can mount larger radiators and more case fans. A mini-tower (mATX/ITX, 300–400mm height) with a 240mm AIO and 3 fans runs warm under sustained load at 40°C ambient. CPU cooler fitment — the mini-tower constraint
Mini-tower and micro-ATX cases restrict CPU cooler height. Most mATX cases allow 155–165mm maximum cooler height. Mainstream tall air coolers like the Noctua NH-D15 (165mm), Thermalright Peerless Assassin (168mm), or DeepCool AK620 (168mm) may not fit in tighter mATX cases. For Indian summer, you want the largest cooler the case will accept — not just any compatible cooler. The compromise in a mini-tower is either a 240mm AIO (liquid cooler) or a short air cooler (typically 120–135mm tower), both of which run at their thermal limits at 40°C ambient. In a mid-tower or full-tower, a 360mm AIO or a 165mm dual-tower air cooler give substantial headroom.
GPU fitment and power delivery
Modern GPUs — RTX 4070/4080/4090 and AMD RX 7800/7900 — are large cards. Triple-fan triple-slot GPU designs (which have the GPU's cooler spanning 3 motherboard slots in width) require a case with a GPU length clearance of 330–350mm. Most mini-towers support 250–270mm maximum GPU length, which excludes most top-tier gaming GPUs. Full-tower cases are rated for 380mm or longer. A mid-tower (330mm+ clearance) fits most mainstream and enthusiast GPUs. The India angle — dust, humidity, and case placement
Full-tower cases have more surface area for dust filter placement, which is beneficial in India. However, larger cases also move more air volume — which means more total dust deposition per day. The filter maintenance interval is roughly similar across form factors if each has well-designed front and bottom filters. What matters more for India is the filter mesh quality (fine mesh traps construction dust and PM2.5 better than coarse mesh) and the ease of filter removal for weekly cleaning. Humidity during monsoon season (June–September) can cause condensation on cold case panels in AC rooms — a known issue for cases placed directly on cold marble floors. Elevate the PC on a rubber pad, especially for ITX builds placed on the floor.

The most common scenario we see is an Indian home gamer who bought a mini-tower ITX build during winter, ran it fine for months, and then found it throttling every afternoon in April–May. The cooler was always marginal for a 125W CPU — winter masked it. Size the cooler for Indian peak summer ambient (42°C), not for temperate climate benchmarks. If a cooler review says it's excellent at 22°C ambient, assume it's mediocre at 40°C.
