Your Dell Inspiron 15 charges only when the plug is held at a certain angle, and the charger now feels loose in the socket. You have two practical choices: ask someone to assess it at your door, or pack the laptop and take or send it in. This post sets out what Dell itself offers for out-of-warranty laptops, what a doorstep assessment by Laptop Repair World can and cannot do, and a short checklist so you can choose calmly. What is a loose charging port?
The charging port is the small socket on the side of the laptop. Over months of daily use the plug slowly wears it, and the metal contacts inside can loosen or the solder joints that hold them to the board can crack. The laptop then charges only when the plug is pushed in a certain way.
Short answer: if a Dell plan or warranty covers onsite or carry-in repair for your Inspiron, begin there. If the laptop is out of warranty and getting it to a service counter is the difficulty, a doorstep assessment is reasonable, as long as you receive a written quote before any work and can say no to it.
What does Dell itself offer for an out-of-warranty Inspiron?
Dell's India page for laptops and desktops outside warranty describes repair with logistics (the pick-up and return arrangement), diagnostics and repair. It also mentions onsite repair services, and a parts-only service for people who maintain their own machines. The page asks you to contact Dell support with your Service Tag (the short code printed under the laptop) ready, and it notes that the logistics model and service level can vary by country. It does not state a repair warranty or a turnaround time, so ask Dell for both when you call.
Onsite repair is plan-specific. Dell's Premium Support begins with a remote diagnosis, and a technician or part is sent after that, which Dell states as one or two business days. Onsite service is also subject to availability in your country. Not every Inspiron is covered by such a plan, so check the Service Tag on Dell's plan page before assuming it applies.
What can a doorstep assessment cover?

Is a carry-in better when the board is cracked?
Sometimes the damage is not only the socket. If the board around it has cracked, the repair becomes larger and the quotation changes. That is the reason to insist on an inspection before approving a price from anyone. This is an illustrative scenario, not a record of a real customer. Picture an Inspiron 15 used for online classes. Power cuts and voltage swings are common in many Indian homes, and a loose charger also flickers on and off. The laptop may shut down without saving your work. In such a case the sensible order is: save your files, stop using the laptop on charge, and get the port checked before the battery or board suffers.
When is the brand route the better choice?
Use Dell first if your Inspiron is still in warranty, if a Dell onsite plan or an accidental-damage plan covers it, or if Dell support tells you a free programme applies. Read your Dell warranty or plan conditions before you choose an independent repair, and ask Dell how a repair elsewhere interacts with them.
