Short answer: For most Indian home builders, a 360mm AIO liquid cooler (all-in-one closed-loop water cooling unit with a 3×120mm radiator) is the sweet spot: it handles high-TDP CPUs in Indian summer ambient, fits most mid-tower and full-tower cases, and needs zero coolant maintenance. A 280mm AIO (2×140mm radiator) is sufficient for mid-range CPUs. A custom loop is warranted for enthusiast builds where you need to cool both CPU and a 400W+ GPU in a single circuit — but it costs 3–5× more and requires biannual coolant changes.

280mm AIO — the sweet spot for mid-range builds
A 280mm AIO (two 140mm fans) delivers cooling performance between a 240mm and 360mm unit. It is particularly suited to mid-tower cases that lack front-mount space for a 360mm unit but have a top-mount 280mm slot. In Indian summer with a 95–125W CPU, a 280mm AIO keeps temperatures well below throttle thresholds. A custom water loop — with a dedicated pump (to circulate coolant), reservoir (to store coolant and reduce pump cavitation), one or more radiators (to dissipate heat), CPU water block (copper or nickel-plated block that contacts the CPU lid), GPU water block (optional), fittings, and tubing — outperforms an AIO by 8–15°C on CPU, and can simultaneously cool a high-wattage GPU in the same loop. The India angle — pump reliability and warranty
India's power infrastructure (voltage fluctuations, brownouts, power cuts) creates occasional stress on AIO pump electronics. We see AIO pump failures spike in May–June — the peak Indian summer months. Most pump failures show up after 3–4 years of use, not immediately. If your desktop is 3+ years old and liquid-cooled, check the CPU temperatures under sustained load and compare against the day-one readings. A 10–15°C increase without any other change means the pump is degrading or the coolant has evaporated enough to reduce flow.
