Xiaomi Mi Notebook Touchpad Not Working Fix in Hyderabad

A completely unresponsive trackpad on the Xiaomi Mi Notebook is diagnosed differently from an erratic one. Non-detection in Device Manager points to a hardware fault (I2C ribbon cable open-circuit or controller IC dead). The ribbon cable runs from the trackpad PCB under the palmrest and through a ZIF connector to the mainboard — it fractures at the ZIF end from repeated palmrest removal during prior repairs. A software cause: MIUI for Notebook driver corruption after an OS update that maps the trackpad to a disabled HID device; device is visible but reports no input. Third: accidental Fn+F7 (trackpad disable shortcut on some models) — we check this first.

Fn+F7 trackpad shortcut is checked first (30-second fix). MIUI for Notebook driver is reinstalled from OEM source to rule out software.
