How to slow display aging and keep screens clean
Step 1: Set the right brightness level for your environment
The most impactful display maintenance habit is choosing the right brightness level for ambient conditions rather than defaulting to maximum. In a normally lit room, 60–70% brightness is comfortable and reduces backlight stress. Enable auto-brightness (Windows: Settings › System › Display › Change brightness automatically when lighting changes) if your laptop has an ambient light sensor — this is especially useful in India where lighting conditions shift rapidly between AC-cooled dark offices and bright outdoor or window-facing desks.
