XGA, 2,800–3,200 lumens, business and education. The DX120 and DX140 are Sony's mainstream XGA business projectors, found across Hyderabad corporate offices in HiTec City, Kondapur, and Begumpet. WXGA widescreen, 2,800 lumens. The DW120 and DW125 add 16:10 widescreen output, common in Hyderabad conference rooms and AV installations where 16:9 content is standard. The LMP-D213 fits the VPL-DX102, DX122, DX142, DW122, DW126, DW127. The LMP-D214 fits the DX120, DX125, DX140, DX145, DW120, DW125. They are not interchangeable. UHP lamps fail gradually. Sony VPL firmware typically shows a lamp warning 50 to 100 hours before complete failure, giving enough time to schedule a doorstep fit before the next presentation or event.
Picture pale even at maximum brightness, colours desaturated and grey. The UHP arc has degraded. Replacement is the only fix; adjusting brightness or contrast settings does nothing once the arc output has fallen significantly.
Sony VPL cuts out mid-slide, then refuses to restart for five to ten minutes. The lamp has hit the thermal cut-off. The fault repeats with shorter cool-down intervals until the lamp fails completely and often without warning.
