Lamp Module End-of-Life
The most common Sony VPL fault across all series — lamp hours exhausted or bulb suddenly blown. Genuine Sony lamp modules for DX, EX, VW series available. Same-visit swap. DX series: ₹4,500–₹9,500. VW home cinema: ₹8,500–₹22,000.
SXRD / LCoS Panel Issues
On premium VPL-VW series: colour misalignment, pixel artefacts, colour fringing around text. These are 3-panel LCoS symptoms. Convergence calibration via service menu or mechanical optical realignment. Panel: ₹15,000–₹45,000. Calibration: ₹3,500–₹8,500.
Power Supply Unit (PSU) Failure
The VPL-EX100 PSU failure is a known fault — power LED dead, fan silent, no startup. Component-level board repair replaces the failed capacitors or IC, not the whole PSU. ₹2,500–₹8,000. Applies to EX121, EX430 and VPL-CH series too.
HDMI Input Board Failure
No signal, blank screen, or intermittent HDMI on VPL-DX120, VPL-EX, VPL-CH, and VPL-VW series. HDMI IC chip or connector solder joints failing. Board repair or replacement: ₹3,500–₹8,500. Tested on all HDMI inputs before handover.
IRIS Lens Motor Failure
Image suddenly dim, stuck brightness, or error code on VPL-VW and VPL-CH models — the IRIS lens motor controls dynamic contrast and has failed. Motor service or replacement: ₹2,500–₹6,500. Restores full HDR dynamic range.
Network Module Diagnostics
Corporate VPL-CH and VPL-FH units with RJ45 network control — network module failure means the AV controller can’t command the projector. Network board diagnostics and replacement: ₹3,500–₹8,500.
Image Lag / Cooling Fan Rattle
Sony VPL cooling fans develop bearing rattle after 3–5 years — temperature warning LED, auto-shutdown, loud vibration. Fan bearing replacement or full fan swap + thermal clean. ₹2,000–₹4,500.
Convergence Issue (3-Panel SXRD)
Red, blue, or green halo fringing visible on white text — the three SXRD panels have drifted out of optical alignment. Digital convergence calibration: ₹3,500–₹8,500. Mechanical optical block realignment available for severe cases.
Optical Block Dust Accumulation
