The eight most common battery symptoms we see in Hyderabad. Not every one means replacement — sometimes a charging-circuit fix is enough.
Was lasting 4–5 hours, now 30–40 minutes. Capacity has dropped — replacement restores full runtime.
Charger connected but Windows says not charging. Could be charger, charging IC, or battery itself — we test all three.
Trackpad lifting, keyboard popping out, laptop wobbles on table. Fire/burst risk — replace immediately.
Says 30% remaining, then black screen. Battery management chip can’t trust the cells — usually replacement.
Unplug and laptop stops working instantly. Battery is essentially zero-capacity. Standard replacement.
Health below 60% means <60 minutes runtime in real use. Time to swap before it shuts off completely.
Bottom of laptop hot to touch even on idle. Thermal stress on cells. Replace before it bulges.
Either battery-saver protection (sometimes intentional) or a degraded cell. We test both possibilities.
A laptop battery is a tightly wound stack of lithium-ion cells, typically 18650-format cylindrical or pouch-format flat cells, connected in series and parallel to deliver the right voltage and capacity. Inside each cell, lithium ions shuttle between a graphite anode and a metal-oxide cathode through a liquid electrolyte. Charging pushes ions one way; discharging pushes them back. After 500–1,000 full cycles — roughly 18 to 30 months of typical laptop use — the electrode structures begin to degrade. Capacity drops first, then internal resistance rises, then the cell stops behaving predictably.
This is why a swollen battery is genuinely dangerous, not just inconvenient. Swelling is gas evolution inside the cell, caused by electrolyte breakdown, internal short circuits, or lithium plating on the anode. The pressure pushes the soft pouch shell outward — visible as a trackpad lifting, a keyboard popping out, or the laptop wobbling on a flat table. A swollen cell can rupture, vent flammable electrolyte, and ignite. We replace swollen batteries on the same day we see them, with proper disposal, and we strongly recommend not charging the laptop until then.
The most misdiagnosed symptom is “plugged in, not charging.” Customers expect a battery swap. We test three things first: the charger’s output voltage with a multimeter (is the brick actually delivering 19V or 20V?), the laptop’s DC jack (is power getting in?), and the charging IC on the motherboard (is the laptop accepting and routing the power?). Only when all three test clean do we conclude the battery is the fault. That’s the difference between an honest diagnosis and an upsell.
Once a battery genuinely needs replacement, the physics of the new pack matter. A genuine OEM cell from a reputable manufacturer (LG, Samsung SDI, Panasonic, ATL) holds 80% of advertised capacity for 18–24 months under normal use, then declines gradually. Cheap grey-market cells start at the same nominal capacity but degrade rapidly — often dropping below 60% within six months. We source through OEM channels for warranty-grade cells, and tell you when a compatible-grade option makes more sense for an older laptop you’ll keep for two more years rather than six.
Habits matter as much as parts. Keeping the laptop plugged in at 100% all day generates more heat and accelerates calendar aging — we’ll show you Windows or macOS battery-care toggles during the visit. Running 0% to 100% repeatedly stresses the cells more than partial cycles. A battery treated kindly outlasts one that isn’t, often by 50%.
30 minutes at your doorstep. We test the charging circuit before quoting a battery — sometimes it’s the charger, not the battery.
Battery health, charging IC, charger output — full test. We don’t sell you a battery you don’t need.
OEM, compatible, or extended-life — exact part, exact price, in writing. Both options where they exist.
Old battery removed, new battery seated, connector clicked, BIOS calibration kicked off.
Charge cycle confirmed, battery health reading shown to you. Pay only after you’re happy. 30-day warranty.
Typical ranges below. Final price fixed in writing at diagnosis — no hidden charges, no surprise add-ons.
All prices include OEM battery + labour + 30-day warranty. Compatible-grade batteries (90-day parts warranty) available for older models. Old battery handed back to you for safe disposal, on request.
What customers ask before booking a battery replacement in Hyderabad.
A swollen or end-of-life battery is rarely the only component under stress — these are the services customers most often combine with a battery job.
While the laptop is open for battery replacement, upgrading to a faster SSD (solid-state drive) adds years of productive life at minimal extra cost.
If your charger cable is fraying or the adapter cuts out, a failing charger can stress the new battery — best replaced at the same visit.
A loose charging port means your battery never fully charges; we fix the DC jack (the socket the charger plugs into) so power flows reliably again.
If the battery management circuit on the board has failed, a new battery alone won't fix the charging problem — board-level diagnosis included.
Overworked fans cause the CPU to throttle, which drains the battery faster — replacing a worn fan restores both cooling and battery runtime.
If a swollen battery has already pushed up the keyboard or bottom cover, we replace both together to prevent further chassis damage.
